Reports
The Reports section gives you structured financial summaries you can use for business planning, tax prep, or sharing with an accountant.
Profit & Loss (P&L)
The P&L report shows revenue, expenses, and net profit broken down by business line for a period you specify.
Options:
- Period — monthly, quarterly, or year-to-date
- Year — select the calendar year
- Business Line — show all lines or filter to one
The report shows each business line as a column with income, expenses, and net as rows. A totals column summarizes across all lines.

Expense Breakdown
Shows total expenses grouped by category for the selected period. Useful for understanding where money is going.
The chart view shows each category as a proportional slice. The table view shows the exact amounts and percentages.
Revenue by Client
Lists all clients with revenue attributed to them for the selected period, sorted by total revenue descending. Clients with no transactions in the period are excluded.
Stripe Fee Impact
If you process payments through Stripe, this report shows:
- Gross revenue from Stripe charges
- Total Stripe fees paid
- Net revenue after fees
- Effective fee rate
This helps you understand how much Stripe is actually costing you and factor fees into your pricing.
Pre-Revenue Report
Lists all business lines marked as "Pre-Revenue" in Settings, with their cumulative expenses. This is useful for tracking investment in businesses that aren't yet generating income.
Tips for Tax Season
Use the P&L (Year-to-Date) report to get your annual income and expense totals. Export it as PDF to hand to your accountant or tax preparer.
The Expense Breakdown report helps identify deductible categories. Common deductible categories to set up: Software, Office Supplies, Travel, Meals, Professional Services, Marketing.
The CSV export from Transactions (filtered to the tax year) gives your accountant raw transaction data if they need it.
AR Aging
The AR Aging report shows all outstanding (unpaid) invoices grouped by how overdue they are.
| Bucket | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Current (0–30 days) | Invoice sent but not yet overdue or just recently due |
| 31–60 days | Overdue by 1–2 months |
| 61–90 days | Overdue by 2–3 months |
| 90+ days | Significantly overdue |
Each row shows the client name, invoice number, invoice date, due date, amount, and days outstanding. Use this report to prioritize follow-ups with clients who owe money.
Export: Click Export PDF for a formatted aging report.
Cash Flow
The Cash Flow report shows total inflows (income) and outflows (expenses) for a selected period, and the net cash position (inflows minus outflows).
Options:
- Period — monthly, quarterly, or year-to-date
- Year — select the calendar year
This is distinct from the P&L in that it reflects cash movement rather than accrual accounting. Use it to understand whether cash is building up or being drawn down over time.
Export: Click Export PDF or Export CSV.
P&L Comparison
The P&L Comparison report shows a selected period side by side with the same period from the prior year, with a variance column so you can track performance year-over-year.
Options:
- Period — month, quarter, or year-to-date (automatically compared against the same period one year prior)
For example, selecting Q1 2026 shows Q1 2026 vs Q1 2025. The variance column shows the absolute and percentage change. Positive variance on income is green; positive variance on expenses is red.

Trial Balance
The Trial Balance report lists all accounts with their debit and credit totals for a selected period, and confirms that debits equal credits.
Options:
- Period — date range
This report is primarily for accountants or for year-end close. It confirms the integrity of your double-entry records.
TIP
All reports have a per-report PDF export button. For raw data, use the CSV export on the Transactions page filtered to the date range you need.
